2 strip steaks
1 cup red wine
3/4 cup freshly brewed strong black coffee
1 pinch rosemary
1 pinch thyme
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 to 3 teaspoons cracked black pepper (added before grilling)

In a large food storage bag, combine the wine, coffee, rosemary, thyme, pepper, onion and garlic powders and salt. Add the steaks and turn to coat well. Seal the bag and refrigerate for 3 to 4 hours.

Heat grill. Take steaks out of the marinade, let excess drip back into the bag. Discard the marinade. Sprinkle the strip steaks with the cracked pepper. Use a little or a lot, depending on your preference. Place the steaks on the hot grill. Grill for about 4 to 6 minutes on each side, or until done as desired.
