Mrs. Laura Winkler is a 2nd grade teacher st Putnam City Central Elementary. She is an amazing teacher that has a heart of gold. She challenges her students everyday, but always makes sure the kids be themselves. Mrs. Winkler makes learning fun & guides their learning while allowing them to explore all their options. Her can do attitude is something her students feed off of. The parents at Putnam City Central Elementary are blessed to have a teacher like Mrs. Winkler teaching their children. Principal Hetherington of St. Mary's Episcopal School in Edmond has devoted her life to the growth of this one small school & it's students. After 23 years of Head of Schools & over 30 at St. Mary's she is retiring after the 2012-2013 school year. Many families have been fortunate to have their children be part of this dynamic, loving & super nurturing family. Parents believe that Mrs. Hetherington's leadership & devotion flows straight from her heart through the teachers & into every child that has ever walked through the shool's doors. All of the parents wish her all the blessings she deserves as she continues down life's road. Thank you Principal Hetherington for making such an impact on these students & parents. Miss Katty Gauthier or Miss "G" as the students call her is a 4th grade teacher at GUES - Guthrie Upper Elementary School. Miss G has worked miracles with her class. She has an uncanny ability to see the children as little people with individual personalities. In doing so, she has found avenues of learning that work for each child. She has established an enviroment of respect, comfort & peace which enables her children to focus on the subject she is teaching. Miss G's students grow academically & in character. The students have established more respect of self, compassion for others & absolute adoration for Miss G. Way to make a differenece Miss G...keep on ROCKIN the EDUCATION! Miss Melissa Smith the P.E. Teacher at Council Grove Elementary School in the Western Heights district goes far above & beyond the role of a teacher. She organizes fundraising events & by that we mean she sets up & tears down. She organizes a Santa Store for the kids, various Bingo & Carnival nights as well as Silent Auctions. She even volunteered to organize a track meet that was a tradition & was going to be discontinued but she stepped up & took on the responsibility of running it, so the tradition would live on. She even single handedly sets up & runs SUPER KIDS Day for the students every year. Miss Melissa Smith we thank you for stepping up & doing whatever it takes to get the job done for our students, their parents & your co-workers. YOU ROCK! (pictured is Miss Smith)

Mrs. Allie Seward is a 5th grade teacher @ Harrah's Russell Babb Elementary. She understands how important it is to let her students be themselves, but know when it's time to focus on the task ahead. She emails & calls parents to make sure they stay posted on their students work. She goes above & beyond on a daily basis. Mrs. Seward is very unique & special & in her parents eyes, she is a TRUE Teacher of the Week! (picture not available)

Tanya Lasater is a 5th grade teacher at Adams Elementary in Norman. She is well respected by her students, parents & her colleagues. Mrs. Lasater is a leader throughout the building & the district. Her love for teaching goes beyond all that. With position changes for different reasons, she stepped up to help keep the 5th grade teaching team a solid unit. Mrs. Denise Heard Math & religion teacher at St. John Nepomuk Catholic School in Yukon. Mrs. Heard is a dedicated teacher who blends a deep knowledge of Math & Religion with a passion for helping students learn. She's also a former NASA scientist, so her MATH students are Uber LUCKY! She puts in time with every student who needs it, to the point that she often eats during her breaks so she can work one on on with the kids at lunch. In addition to being a great resource for students, Mrs. Heard is a leader among our faculty. If you need an extra hand she's your woman. Thank you Mrs. Heard for being the kind of teacher that your co-workers are honored to work with & for making a difference in our children's lives. Mrs. Krystina Grissom is the 4th grade teacher at Asher public school. She is an inspiring teacher who truly cares about each of her students. She teaches the students to become a better person & she sets a good example by doing as she teaches them to do. She constantly spends from her own pocket for her students & is so giving with her time to them as well. The parents of Asher public schools are honored to have their children taught by her. Mr. Reginald Irons, director or bands at Classen School of Advanced Studies. Mr. Irons is truly an inspiration & source of great respect for all of the kids in his programs. The Classen Jazz band has won outstanding awards since he has been the director, & often gets the chance to perform outside of the school setting for pay. He challenges the kids to work above what they think they can do, & thus the fabulous sound is the product of his genius. You'll never hear parents ecpress anything but praise for Mr. Irons. Mrs. Sally Kilby 5th grade teacher at Will Rogers Elementary is highly regarded by her students & peers. Peek inside her classroom on any given day & you'll see a climate of mutual respect between students & teacher. Mrs. Kilby builds positive caring relationships with her students & maintains high expectations at the same time. She takes the time to help students think through decisions & look for more positivie solutions. Mrs. Kilby is an asset to the Will Rogers Staff & to the teaching profession.
