Call me crazy, but I've always enjoyed exercising. But even at the time that I was in the best shape of my life, I couldn't run long distances to save my life! (As my friend says, “I only run if I'm being chased!”) Well, this year I'm biting the bullet! I've signed up for the Oklahoma City Memorial Half-Marathon! (Not crazy enough yet to do the full-marathon. 13.1 miles is enough for now.)
So I've been training by myself for the last few months using a college track, an old pair of tennis shoes, and a few strength training exercises that I was taught back when I could afford a gym membership. The funny thing is that I feel better now than I ever did after any session at the gym! And the work-out is free!
