Say It Ain't So Madden

My fellow bloggers, I need to vent.  Yes it's because I can't afford therapy.

John Madden, Hall of Fame coach & the most honored broadcaster in sports TV history, announced his retirement from broadcasting this morning.  NBC Sports chairman Dick Ebersol said Cris Collinsworth, would replace Madden in the booth.

This is a Very SAD day for anyone that has EVER watched football.  Me personally, will have to take the next 4 days to get over this announcement.  However, after reading the statement Madden released I can't blame him, but I will sorely miss him.  the statement read as follows...It's time. I'm 73 years old. My 50th wedding anniversary is this fall. I have two great sons & their families & my five grandchildren are at an age now when they know when I'm home & more importantly, when I'm not.  I still love every part of it – the travel, the practices, the game film, the games, seeing old friends & meeting new people... but I know this is the right time.

See I can't blame him for wanting to spend more time with his family, but Sunday nights won't be the same.  Now, you guys know how much I LOVE my Madden video games.  The good news is that Madden plans to continue his EA Sports video game the #1 selling sports video game of all-time.

I'm curious...Is John Madden one of those guys you either LOVE or Hate him?  Reply to this question.  Do you LOVE, HATE or just don't give a darn about him.  Just curious.
