This morning we're typing from Shiloh Morning Inn in Ardmore, Oklahoma. Guys if you need to get out of the DOGHOUSE, this is the place to make that happen. See for yourself @ www.shilohmorning.com
As everyday, the drive here was very interesting. We made our way through Hugo, Oklahoma first & found out that the original Buster Brown was from there. He was known as a tiny man from a tiny town. Okay, I just made that up, but Edmond Ansley really was from Hugo & the first Buster Brown. After that we made a quick stop @ Mt. Olivet cemetery, home to Showmen’s Rest. Over the years, many circuses have called Hugo home for the winter. The cemetery serves as the final resting place for many performers.
From there we headed to Gooberville. NOT! We made our way to Madill & the Texoma Peanut Inn. Even though it sounds like a hotel, it’s not, it's a peanut company that roasts & sells all kinds of nuts. Of course the standard peanuts, but you can also get seasond nuts like Cajun & jalapeno. If you like peanuts, be sure to check them out.
When we finally made it to Ardmore, we checked in @ Shiloh Morning Inn & then headed to the Main Street Wine Depot, an incredible place to see & find out more about the building's history & the tunnels. Yes, there used to be tunnels under Ardmore & @ the Wine Depot, you can still see where you would enter those tunnels. Ask Jadean to show you the tunnels Magic Man talked about. It's WAY cool. Finally, we went to Cafe Alley to meet owner Samantha Norton & try the stuffed poblano pepper, it ROCKED! Then we sampled their flatiron steak, & tilapia. Both are great & you should check it out the next time you're passing through Ardmore.
That pretty much wrapped up Day 4. Our last day just around the corner, type to you tomorrow.
By the time we arrived back at the inn, we were both ready for a relaxing evening – and the Shiloh Morning Inn delivered!
