Shawn is a fifth generation Oklahoman. She was born and raised in Oklahoma City . She Graduated from Central State University (Now UCO) with a bachelor's degree in vocal performance. After a year or so doing singing telegrams (that was uh…interesting) and working as a magician's assistant, a nice professor guided her towards the campus radio station. That was in 1986. The rest, as they say, is history! Shawn has been on the air in OKC ever since.

Shawn and her husband Jim have two daughters, Julia & Jenifer, two crazy dogs (Duncan & Rosie), a cat (Asha), and a leopard gecko (Sam). They reside in North Oklahoma City .

Shawn's favorites-

Color: Usually blue, sometimes purple.

Food: Mexican!!!! Especially a good carne asada!

Drink: Merlot wine, or just plain water

Magazine: Redbook (although I don't really read magazines that often)

Movie: The Untouchables, To Kill a Mockingbird, Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

TV Show: Everybody Loves Raymond re-runs, Law and Order, The Medium

Sports teams: OU Sooners, and OSU Cowboys (Yes, I know I should choose, but I can't), NY Yankees

Hobbies: I love to play golf even though I'm not very good at it, I love to ride my motorcycle (Kawasaki Vulcan 800), I like to go fishing even though I don't really have the patience for it. Outside of work, I love doing "whatever" with my family, singing and being involved with my church (Westminster Presbyterian) is important to me. I have also developed a slight addiction to doing "Sudoku" and playing with my kid's wii.
